To begin with, let’s talk about the name. The name Satin Paper Kisses
refers to the actual photograph paper finishing. For real intense and vivid
colours we picked a top-quality
photographic paper coated with a satin touch for a smooth textured feeling.
The first step in crafting is selecting the cardstock. We use here a
hammered cardstock for its tactile feeling and for a premium visual quality. We
hand pick and score the card carefully with the help of our scoring tool.
Next step? Off to printing, of course. After we photoshop your
message, either typed or hand-written, into the interior card layout, we print
the back and the inside of your card. As you already know, all our greeting
cards include a hand designed Central
London Map with all the key iconic sites, that all tourists go crazy for.
This gorgeous map was specially created for us by hand-drawnmaps.co.uk
We then hand stamp the lips signature to your message inside the card.
The frames of the Satin Paper Kisses are created from linen cardstock. We fix the cardstock to the cutting mat and we use the rolling tool to push out any air bubbles left under and check that it’s secured in place for cutting.
The great CRICUT machine is cutting the photographic frame with the same precision every time. We peel it of slowly and we are ready for the next step.
The
Kisses
from London
vinyl, previously cut with the CRICUT, gets transferred onto the photo frame
and carefully secured in place.
We
print your selected or uploaded London Photo onto the satin paper and then we hand cut it to size for our frame.
Now we are ready for assemble. We use strong running double
tape that will keep everything strongly in place.
For those of you who really want to add an extra element of surprise, we add inside our cards a Flying Paper Butterfly. We twist its wings 26 times, we test the flight, we twist it again and insert it into your card.
Your greeting card is NOW assembled and ready for packaging.
We print the Kisses from London logo and the London skyline design onto our envelope. We hand stamp a few items for a better London look and to stir up the curiosity in the receiver’s eyes.
All
our envelopes are sealed with melted wax
and hand stamped with Kisses from London for a traditional and romantic look.
To make the tag line in the wax seal pop up a bit, we hand colour each letter
with silver ink.
For a better control over your Kisses we can also add a Do Not Open Before Date stamp, where we hand write your chosen
special date.
Now
your Satin Paper Kisses are ready for take off and we will take it to a Royal Mail office in Trafalgar Square, London to let them spread their wings
and reach their destination.
